You will visit Zeus Cave, traditional villages, old wind mills, an olive oil factory where we’ll taste different kind of local olive oils and of course we’ll enjoy Cretan traditional lunch.
Lasithi is a region of 15 spectacular panoramic villages set in the Mountains and Tzermiado is the biggest and the capital of Lasithi.
Lasithi is known worldwide for two things, for Its 12.000 windmills and Zeus cave.
There were about 12.000-13.000 windmills pumping groundwater and it was the first and largest wind farm in Europe, but most have now been replaced by electric or petrol pumps.
Apples and pears, cherries and plums, pomegranates and quins, strawberries, nuts, almonds, grapes, potatoes and tomatoes, lettuce, aubergines, artichokes, and much much more are grown on the Lasithi Plateau, since hundreds of years ago.
Dikteon Cave, Psychro Cave, or Zeus Cave which is located about a kilometer from the village Psychro at the height of 1025 meters.
Named Dikteon Cave because it is nestled in Dikteon Range Mountains, Psychro Cave because is located in this village, and Zeus Cave because according to the mythology Zeus was born here. This is an impressive cave and one of the most visited sites in Crete.
You will have the chance to learn the way the Cretan people produce the golden liquid since thousands years, than we are going to taste different kind of extra local olive oils.

The tour was one of the best I ever had. Stavros the guide was amazing, very very kind, very patient and had so much knowledge about Crete and Greece and History.
It truly was a pleasure to talk to him, ask him questions and hear his funny and important information and tips he gave. The tour was really complete, we saw everything that was listed and even more along the way. Stavros gave us a full Cretan experience and even at lunch we discovered so many good food and he even taught us some Greek words. I highly recommend this tour with Stavros especially if you are traveling solo or as couples as it was a great experience with a small group and we shared many great memories !
I will definitely come back to Crete and will book all other tours that Stavros will have ! This tour was the highlight of my Greece trip ! Thank you again Stavros for the great moments and for all the valuable information you gave !
Amazing tour!
Really showcases the part of Crete you didn’t realize existed. Stavros (our guide/driver) was fabulous! The trip with him was entertaining, knowledgeable and engaging. The group size was small (4 on our trip but max 8) so it beats larger organized trips where you’re sat on a coach for hours upon hours plus there is the added bonus that there’s a little more flexibility with the time. The only way to access the mouth of the cave is by foot (or donkey at €10) but take it at your own pace and admire the views whilst you’re on your way up but the little trek is worth it. Each part of the trip is nicely spread out so you don’t spend much of the day being transported. Well worth booking.
This tour was the highlight of our stay in Crete. Our guide was wonderful and very nice! He is very knowledgeable and enjoys sharing information about the area and Greek culture. We got to see many villages on our way to and from the cave. We stopped for Greek coffee at a traditional cafe and had a wonderful experience there. The trip was just a an awesome experience!

Unique tour
Made this tour on the first week of January and really love it,every minute of the day.
We drove to Lasithi Plateau through traditional villages and arrived in Zeus cave,wich was worth to visit it.
The driver guide was polite and professional with a nice sense of humor.
At the end of the day,we ate at traditional taverna very delicious food and home made wine.
